Recently, there have been instances of fraudulent job offers in the market, misrepresenting Indegene. Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam commonly perpetrated through online services such as bogus websites, unsolicited e-mails, or messages claiming to be from a legitimate company. They solicit personal information from recipients and ultimately seek payment claiming it to be a fee for processing applications. The jobs they advertise are fake and do not exist.
We are taking this matter very seriously and working closely with the appropriate authorities to address it. Consequently, we have compiled some information to help you recognize signs of fraud and how to proceed in the event you or someone known to you has got what could be a fake job offer from Indegene.
You may be asked to complete bogus recruitment documents such as application forms, terms and conditions of employment, or visa forms, that may feature Indegene's name and logo (used without authorization).
Early in the discussion, the perpetrator/s may request your personal information such as address details, date of birth, CV, passport details, bank details etc.
You may be asked to contact other companies/individuals such as lawyers, bank officials, travel agencies, courier companies, and visa/immigration processing agencies.
If you look at the sender's e-mail, they are often sent from (or to) free web-based e-mail accounts such as Yahoo.com, Yahoo.co.uk, Gmail.com, Google-mail.com, and Live.com.
E-mails will appear to be sent from an officer or a senior executive of the company, often in Legal or Human Resources teams. Fake e-mails do not end with @indegene.com. They may also have addresses that are similar or deceptively similar, for example, @lndegene.com. or @indegen.com.
Calls received may originate from mobile or platform telephone numbers beginning with +44(0)70 from outside of the US or India instead of official company numbers.
You may be asked for a fee to facilitate the job offer. The perpetrators may offer to pay a large percentage of this fee, asking you to pay the remaining amount.
The perpetrators will insist on a quick turnaround and infuse a lot of urgency in the communication.
Do share the e-mail with us at irp@indegene.com without deleting any information.
E-mail headers contain a detailed record of the specific route that an e-mail takes on the internet, and will help us identify the perpetrators' location(s) and so, do not simply forward the e-mail as this will remove the header information. To keep the header information, insert the reported fraudulent e-mail into a new e-mail (In Outlook, click Insert > Outlook Item > Selecting the fraudulent e-mail.)
Do retain the original subject line of the e-mail.
Do share the complete, unedited content of the e-mail. PLEASE DO NOT change or edit in any way.
Do not delete the e-mails, as they may be required for investigation later.
Do not engage in communication with the original sender.
Do not forward such e-mails to any other mailbox except to irp@indegene.com with the details mentioned above.
Indegene takes its security and the security of the people associated with it very seriously. We request you to read and follow these instructions carefully and not fall prey to scams. Indegene will not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for any loss that candidates may suffer from recruitment fraud. If you are interested in applying at Indegene, please do check our Careers link for genuine vacancies, and all the information that you need on our recruitment process.
Thank you.
