Role: AVP - Strategy and Operations Office
Location: New Jersey (onshore)
Description: Indegene is seeking an accomplished strategy leader to join the Strategy & Operations (S&O) Office as Associate Vice President. The AVP will act as the chief orchestrator for CTG and face of the S&O Office- shaping strategic priorities, governing execution, optimizing investments, and driving unified performance across a rapidly growing global business.
Key Responsibilities
• CTG Strategy Formation, Prioritization and Execution
o Partner with leadership to define and operationalize S&O mandates, strategic programs and business priorities.
o Build strategic roadmap that aims at identifying value pools, design governance and orchestrate cross-functional execution of strategic priorities.
o Ensure the strategic programs formulated have clear milestones, financial impact and accountability.
• Strategy Execution (StratEx) & Growth/New Bets
o Detailing CTG priorities into sequenced strategic initiatives. Run the StratEx engine that details Strategic initiatives into actionable plan and measurable impact across service lines, engagements and accounts.
o Drive initiatives to scale capabilities and strengthen the value architecture that enable Indegene to have leadership positioning in the marketplace and increase winnability in RFP and proposal
o Build institutional model to launch, scale, sunset, or reboot initiatives based on value delivered and market signals.
• Capital Allocation & Investment Management
o Establish a VC-style portfolio cadence to direct capital, talent, and focus on the highest-value CTG priorities; fund, pause, pivot or exit with clear gates.
o Publish and govern the CTG investment roadmap, ensure investments are aligned to business plan and strategic ambition.
o Drive transparency with an investment & value realization dashboard.
• M&A Integration and Value Unlocking
o Shape inorganic strategy for CTG. Drive Investment Committee (IC) and board presentation to present thesis and target lists; partner on diligence to confirm fit and value creation levers.
o Lead integration program post-acquisition to deliver outcomes in sync with business plan
o Ensure value capture across revenue strategy, customer expansion and capability uplift.
• Portfolio Management & Maximization
o Lead the Capability Council; scale high-potential capabilities, reboot under-performing ones, and launch new ones based on market tailwinds in partnership with service lines.
o Drive KPI-led portfolio mix optimization; embed AI-led transformation to future-proof capabilities.
• Talent Model & Leadership Pipeline
o Architect the CTG talent model covering organizational construct and critical skill capability models.
o Define and operate leadership development tracks and cross-portfolio capability acceleration pathways.
o Build and mentor a high-performing S&O team (Directors/Managers/Analysts) with strong analytical rigor, collaboration, and accountability; coach CTG rising leaders through real-work rotations.
• CTG Governance Management
• Own the CTG governance rhythm- capability reviews, investment reviews, portfolio health checks and transformation councils; publish the CTG Operating Performance Dashboard.
• Establish escalation forums, enforce operating discipline, define conflict resolution mechanism and ensure cross-service line alignment.
Required Qualifications
• 12+ years of experience in strategy, corporate transformation, operating model design, portfolio management or enterprise PMO.
• Strong track record of leading large-scale strategic programs within Life Sciences OR consulting experience with MBB / Big 4 / Strategy practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence C-level stakeholders and drive cross-organizational impact in high-growth, matrixed environments.
• Proven experience in establishing governance structures, performance management frameworks, or enterprise transformation programs.
• Exceptional analytical ability and structured problem-solving skills.
• Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and ability to drive mandate.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in leading a central strategy/transformation office in a mid-to-large scale tech/services organization.
• Exposure to life sciences commercialization, digital operations, or platform/service-line strategy.
• Experience in M&A integration, capability scale-up, operating model redesign, or talent transformation.
• Ability to work across ambiguous, fast-scaling environments and bring order to complexity.
• Strong commercial acumen, innovation mindset, and ability to translate vision into execution.
