Role: Associate Manager – GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) & AI Search Visibility

Job Description:

Role Overview
As an Associate Manager - GEO, you will drive end-to-end GEO strategy and delivery across accounts, ensuring measurable AI visibility outcomes and operational excellence. You will lead a team of analysts and leads, set quality and governance standards, and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business priorities into scalable GEO programs.
As an Associate Manager - GEO at Indegene, you will own GEO delivery across pharma, biotech, and medtech accounts, ensuring strategic alignment, delivery quality, and scalability of AI visibility programs. You will be a key bridge between GEO strategy and execution, influencing senior stakeholders and directly contributing to client growth outcomes in AI-driven search ecosystems.

Must Have

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy, Planning & Oversight
•    Own GEO strategy across accounts / business units, aligning AI visibility goals to client and business priorities
•    Build and maintain GEO roadmaps per account, mapping AI visibility goals to measurable milestones and quarterly plans
•    Proactively monitor changes in LLM behaviour, retrieval patterns, and AI Overview updates; translate learnings into strategic pivots and test plans for assigned accounts
•    Translate business goals into GEO frameworks, operating models, and execution plans across teams
•    Ensure alignment with AI search trends and evolving LLM behavior; define success metrics, reporting cadence, and experimentation approach
•    Partner with cross-functional teams (Content, Tech/Dev, Analytics, Client Services) to unblock execution and ensure recommendations are implemented

2. Delivery Excellence & Governance
•    Review and sign off GEO audits, recommendations, and reports based on the defined deliverable tiering system
•    Ensure strong project planning, scope feasibility, turnaround time (TAT) adherence, output hygiene, and consistency across accounts
•    Evaluate, onboard, and standardize GEO tools across the team; ensure hands-on usage and best practices for tools such as Profound, Semrush, and Writesonic for audit, monitoring, content ideation, and reporting
•    Ensure outputs go beyond reporting to deliver strategic insights; challenge surface-level findings and elevate recommendation quality through clear prioritization and impact sizing
•    Own delivery governance: define SOPs, QA checklists, templates, and review rituals; drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the GEO practice

3. People & Team Management
•    Manage, mentor, and coach GEO Analysts / Lead Analysts; provide regular feedback, career guidance, and upskilling plans
•    Own capacity planning and work allocation across accounts; ensure delivery efficiency, utilization, and on-time outcomes
•    Build internal capability in GEO frameworks through trainings, playbooks, and structured onboarding for new joiners
•    Support hiring by participating in interviews, defining role expectations, and maintaining high bar for quality and culture

4. Quality, Review & Practice Governance
•    Conduct structured reviews of all client-facing GEO deliverables before submission, ensuring accuracy, strategic depth, and consistency
•    Maintain quality benchmarks by defining measurable standards for audit depth, recommendation quality, and reporting accuracy; track adherence and corrective actions
•    Own SOPs, templates, and best practices; manage escalations, risks, and dependencies to protect delivery commitments

5. Stakeholder & Client Management
•    Act as a bridge between GEO PMs, cross-functional teams, and client stakeholders; drive alignment on priorities, timelines, and outcomes
•    Lead client connects, strategy discussions, and performance reviews; influence decisions through data-backed narratives and clear recommendations
•    Manage stakeholder expectations and escalations proactively; ensure risks, trade-offs, and dependencies are communicated early with mitigation plans

Good to have

Core Skills & Requirements
•    10–12 years in SEO / Digital Marketing, with 1–2+ years of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) experience preferred
•    Proven experience in team management and project/program ownership (planning, execution, risk management, and delivery governance)
•    Deep understanding of AI search ecosystems & LLM behavior, entity-based SEO & knowledge graphs, and content scalability frameworks
•    Strong expertise in data-driven strategy, problem solving, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership; excellent executive-ready communication
•    Hands-on experience with GEO/SEO tool stack, including Profound, Semrush, and Writesonic (or equivalent), with ability to train team members on effective usage

Good To Have:
•    Agency Background - Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously, with exposure to cross-industry GEO challenges and the ability to adapt frameworks across therapeutic areas or product categories.
•    Life Sciences / Pharma / MedTech Industry Experience - Familiarity with regulated content environments, including MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review processes and how they impact content velocity and GEO execution. Understanding of HCP vs. patient content journeys is a strong advantage.
•    Health & Medical Content Ecosystems - Awareness of how AI models handle YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) content, including how sources like PubMed, clinical guidelines, and medical associations are preferentially cited in health-related AI outputs.
•    Understanding of Pharma Digital Channels - Exposure to HCP portals, patient support platforms, or branded/unbranded pharma content strategy is a plus
•    Global Market Exposure - Experience with GEO or SEO across various markets is valuable for Indegene's global client base spanning US, EU, and APAC regions.
