Role:

To build on our success and increase our share of the market, we are looking for an experienced sales professional. The AVP – Business Development acts as a front-line client partner in driving business growth in an assigned set of accounts for the full breadth of our life sciences business solutions – clinical, regulatory, safety, medical, commercial, marketing, market access, consulting and others. The position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to devise creative and effective plans and strategies to identify key decision makers in client organizations, generate interest in our solutions, qualify new business opportunities and leverage internal teams to drive growth of our existing engagements and to open new avenues of business and buying groups.

 

Location: This position will be based in the mid-west of the USA, preferably in Chicago, and will involve travel to client locations outside of Chicago as needed. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve top line bookings and revenue goals in the assigned accounts across all our service lines
  • Develop strategic account plans for the assigned accounts and execute on the same
  • Maximize sales coverage in the assigned accounts across stakeholders of all levels of seniority
  • Map key stakeholders in target accounts; create and execute sales and marketing outreach plans to correctly position our company and its solutions, and to generate leads and pipelines for new business
  • Present, promote and sell services and solutions to existing and prospective customers
  • Ensure that Indegene is invited to all RFIs and RFPs related to our service lines in the assigned accounts
  • Convert openings into business by developing proposals and conducting pitches with business unit leadership and operations teams
  • Work with operations and functional managers to prepare and lead sales presentations
  • Understand and map client needs to Indegene capabilities
  • Govern the delivery of engagements in the assigned accounts and work with the operations teams to ensure consistent improvement in NPS

 

Desired skills & Experience:

  • 12+ years’ experience with a wide exposure to the sales and business development of services and/or products in the life sciences industry – especially in large pharma organizations
  • Experience of delivering on sales targets especially as it relates to new business
  • Track record of developing and executing sales and account plans including stakeholder engagement plans
  • Relationships with relevant business decision makers in pharma/life sciences companies
  • Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including key landscape factors such as sales and marketing, digital transformation, regulatory environment, HCP priorities, data and analytics, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication + presentation skills
  • Passion for networking and updating oneself with the latest market trends and relate it to identifying business opportunities
  • Structured thinking and strong business acumen
  • Exposure to emerging technology trends and an understanding of how they will impact various aspects of product commercialization in the life sciences
