UX Design Manager

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Balancing individual contributor (IC) responsibilities with people management, driving both design execution and team development without rigid quantification.
  • Leading design strategy and execution while fostering a high-performing UX team by mentoring, coaching, and guiding designers towards impactful outcomes.
  • Driving UX vision and ensuring alignment across products, service lines, and business objectives while navigating design and technology constraints.
  • Collaborating with internal and external CX/UX BUs to establish cohesive and scalable user experiences across the ecosystem.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Business, to define UX priorities and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Facilitating ideation sessions, design reviews, and critiques, providing constructive feedback to improve team output and alignment with business goals.
  • Overseeing design execution from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to best practices, accessibility, and brand guidelines.
  • Advocating for user-centric design through research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform UX improvements and measure impact.
  • Managing stakeholder expectations, ensuring clear communication of design rationales, trade-offs, and iterative processes.
  • Contributing to the evolution of design operations, workflows, and documentation practices (e.g., Jira, Aha!) for structured and efficient execution.

 

Your impact:
As a UX Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience while empowering a team of designers. Your influence spans across research, strategy, execution, and design governance, driving exceptional user-centered outcomes. Through hands-on contribution and leadership, you will shape how products evolve, ensuring that design remains a strategic driver of business success.

 

Must have:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your UX design leadership, problem-solving skills, and impact-driven design outcomes. Case studies highlighting measurable business and user impact are a plus!
  • 10+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 2+ years of direct people management.
  • Proven expertise in managing, mentoring, and growing design teams, ensuring continuous learning and career development.
  • Strong systems-thinking capabilities with experience developing and maintaining scalable design systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance IC responsibilities with leadership, including hands-on design execution and strategic decision-making.
  • Experience defining and tracking UX metrics to measure and improve user experience and product adoption.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Effective stakeholder management and the ability to navigate complex product landscapes while maintaining a user-first mindset.
  • Passion for fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the UX team.
  • Experience in accessibility best practices and applying inclusive design principles.
