Senior Statistical Analyst

Methodological Support

  • Support off-platform implementation for the Delivery and Research organizations RWD protocols (e.g. drafting protocol sections) for descriptive studies (e.g., drug utilization and natural history of disease studies) and comparative studies (effect estimation)
  • Support development of documentation summarizing the results of AEP methodological tools scientific validation.       

Study Execution

  • Provide ad hoc support of off-platform implementation of studies (e.g., R Coding)      
  • Support development of documentation necessary for the execution off-platform support
  • Support off-platform implementation of protocols for descriptive and comparative studies, validation studies, and other types of studies in alignment with best practices      

Product support and science

  • Develop an understanding of the AEP and expertise with its use         
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal and client-facing resources for customers’ adoption and use of the AEP, such as use-case-driven demonstrations, data dictionaries and other key materials including documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Support contribution to the identification of AEP enhancements and AEP testing, and provide feedback on new AEP design and features

R Coding

  • Write clear and well documented code for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using R and SQL
  • Support the implementation of less complex off-platform work under supervision of more senior team members
  • Able to correctly develop code based on given specifications under supervision of senior team members
  • Experience conducting quantitative analyses using R and SQL programming
  • Follow Aetion's R Style Guide and Best Coding Practices, and Code Review Process
  • Familiarity with GitHub (code should be modular and include checks, tests)

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Strong understanding of, at least, one workflow of an AEP application (e.g., measures, descriptive cohorts)     
  • Ability and interest to grow knowledge base in: pharmacoepidemiology, Health Economics and Outcomes Research HEOR, and/or biostatistical methods as applied to observational RWE studies
  • Able to translate these learnings into product recommendations
  • Identify, compile and abstract relevant literature to support engagements with external organizations (regulatory agencies, HTAs, clients) and internal organizations (Product and Technology)
  • Support the development and maintenance of client’s scientific assets such as study templates, definition library of clinical conditions, and other deployable scientific components

Experience – Required

  • 1 year of experience with R programming
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in biostatistics, epidemiology or related analytic field
