Role: Director, Media Strategy (Patient SME)
Location: Hybrid (New Hope, PA)

Description (About the Role): The Consumer Media Director is an essential new role at our agency. This individual will serve as subject matter expert for Consumer/Patient media for our clients and help shape the development of our Consumer/Patient Media planning & buying services. The Consumer Media Director will focus on several critical areas:
Client Advisory: Work within a team of AH media experts to help one of our largest clients with the strategy, planning, and optimization of their own media efforts. You will be an extension of the client team, serving as liaison between agency teams and the Client omnichannel group.
AH Service Delivery: In collaboration with Strategy & Planning, shape our Consumer Media Planning process and provide direction & feedback for active planning engagements.
The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of experience in consumer media strategy & planning. This role requires a highly collaborative individual who understands brand strategy and uses analytical problem-solving capabilities to shape impactful media strategy & plans. An entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, and proactive follow-up are essential skills for success in this position.
Must Have
Primary Responsibilities
Client Advisory (80%): Oversee [CLIENT] consumer media strategy, plan, and execution as a part of [CLIENT] omnichannel team
Develop comprehensive understanding of client's business, brands, media channels, and competitive landscape and market dynamics
Analyze performance reports & insights looking for implications that shape media strategy
Review and provide feedback on [CLIENT] media vendor’s plans, execution, and optimizations align to [CLIENT] strategy.
Proactively bring new ideas, opportunities, and best practices to client.
Organically grow the client business by managing risks and identifying opportunities, leading & working with the full team to address both
Consumer Media Expertise (20%):
Help improve the quality of our consumer media services and support the development & delivery of consumer media plans.
Support client teams in ensuring planning quality and alignment to client strategy, particularly as it relates to Consumer Media channels & tactics
Advise the Head of Media on media planning and operations best practices, process development, and tool selection
Actively engage with other AH functional teams in mitigating and managing risks, strategic planning, and client advisory as needed.
Monitor trends and attend vendor meetings to stay current on offerings
Evaluate and create new media opportunities from internal or external capabilities
Foster senior level partnerships with prospective clients, partners, and vendors
Leadership:
Act as a role model for clients, partners, and colleagues
Provide leadership and serve as a role model within the client, agency, and industry
Understand when it’s appropriate to make decisions independently and when to escalate
Provide professional development to our Media Planner and ongoing feedback to team members
Help interview, train and orient new team members to the agency, department, and account(s)
Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:
College degree, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or science/medicine
7+ years Agency or comparable experience, some management experience preferred
5-7+ years of digital media planning experience
Strong & confident presentation and people skills; Strong verbal & written communication skills
Experience across Consumer & HCP omnichannel channels including:
Point of Care/EHR
Biddable (Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic)
Digital channels like addressable video, custom programs, endemic platforms (e.g., WebMD, Medscape, MyHealthTeams)
Print/journal and congress
Experience with TV is a plus
Firsthand experience with patient media channels: Point of Care, Programmatic, communities
Expertise in cross-channel media tools (e.g., Comscore @ plan, SRDS, DoubleClick, etc.)
Confidence in interpreting marketing & media performance data (e.g., MMA, ROI, campaign/channel data)
Understanding of CRM disciplines including primary research, customer segmentation, targeting, direct marketing, and customer care
Understanding of SEO and earned media strategies and tactics
Basic understanding of analytical tools used for listening, ad tracking, website, and app statistics (e.g., Google Analytics, Omniture, Crimson Hexagon, etc.)
