You will be responsible for:
• Process Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) from all sources in compliance with applicable regulations, and in accordance with client specific requirements and timelines.
• Identify serious adverse events, and special scenario cases which includes lack of efficacy, exposure and pregnancy case, At Risk, and product quality complaint only cases.
• Ensure scientific rigor through accurate, complete and consistent data entry of adverse events reports from source document with emphasis on timeliness and quality.
• Data entry of all fields including verbatim as per Client conventions.
• Responsible for coding which includes adverse events, medical history, Lab data, Indications etc. using standardized terminology from a medical coding dictionary, such as MedDRA.
• Code products (Suspect/co-suspect, Concomitant) as per Client conventions and Regulatory requirements.
• Draft narratives summarizing the essential details of the case.
• Identify clinically relevant information missing from case report and facilities its collection
• Perform Labeling for Serious/Non-Serious Cases
• Request for follow-up information by using relevant questionnaire
• Manage special requests for case processing prioritization (e.g., emails from clients regarding cases that must be processed urgently upon receipt of email notification)
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions related to case processing. Adhere to pharmacovigilance regulations, guidelines, and internal policies to ensure compliance and data integrity. Understanding adverse event reporting requirements and compliance with data privacy regulations is important.
• Should be open to continuous learning, staying updated with industry changes, new reporting requirements, and emerging safety concerns.
• Attend training sessions, assist in the training and mentorship of other case processing associates as required.
• Provide support with administrative and procedural tasks as requested by the client.
• To perform QC review of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) which includes verifying fields determined as critical, including but not limited to reportability, as well as conformity to E2B standards and this meet quality standards.
• To check if the case meets the criteria per the client requirement to be Valid or invalid workflow.
• Review and validate case data, coding, narratives, and study information against source documents.
• Review all AEs and determine whether the events are accurately reported and captured as what occurred in patient clinically and confirm that events are correctly coded with MedDRA and confirm seriousness criteria
• To confirm product coding, confirm/update seriousness criteria, listedness and case assessment
• Identify serious adverse events, and special scenario cases which include lack of efficacy, exposure and pregnancy case, At Risk, and product quality complaint only cases.
• Assist with related administrative and procedural activities as required or requested
• Assist in the training and Mentorship of other Case Processing Associates as necessary
• To support the development of tools to help enhance understanding of pharmacovigilance at all levels across the organization.
Skills:
• Understand the principles and concepts associated with case-handling process and overall Drug Research Process.
• Cognitive abilities including verbal reasoning, attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical ability.
• Good knowledge on therapy area/medical terminology.
• Ability to critically evaluate medical data.
• Good comprehension skills, excellent mentoring, and training skills.
• Good communication (verbal and written), with fluency in English and interpersonal skills
• Ability to solve routine problems related to core case processing and surface issues constructively with minimal supervision from managers.
• Ability to discern when additional input is required to effectively address unique and/or complex situations.
• Ability to work independently to accomplish team goals with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate computer literacy, particularly in the use and management of relational databases, with knowledge in pharmacovigilance safety database and compliance activities.
• Should be able to streamline workflows, optimize resource allocation, and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Knowledge of disease pathology and physiology, pharmacology, and therapeutics
