Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced UI Design Manager  to lead the delivery of large-scale website and digital experience projects while managing teams, stakeholders, and end-to-end project execution.
The ideal candidate will combine strong UI design expertise with proven experience in client engagement, team management, resource planning, and delivery governance. This role requires a strategic leader who can translate client requirements into actionable design solutions, oversee design quality, manage multiple workstreams, and ensure successful project outcomes.
In addition to providing design direction, the candidate will act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration across design, development, project management, and business teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Management
•    Serve as the primary design contact for clients and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
•    Facilitate requirement-gathering, discovery workshops, design reviews, and client presentations.
•    Build strong client relationships by understanding business objectives and translating them into effective UI solutions.
•    Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate project status, identify risks, and proactively resolve escalations.
•    Present design concepts, rationale, and recommendations confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Team Leadership & People Management
•    Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UI designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
•    Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, skill development planning, and resource allocation activities.
•    Drive hiring, onboarding, capability development, and succession planning within the team.
•    Support designers in resolving design challenges while ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
•    Create a high-performing and engaged design team aligned with organizational goals.
Delivery & Operational Management
•    Own end-to-end delivery of UI design projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget expectations are met.
•    Manage project planning, effort estimation, resource capacity, utilization, and delivery forecasting.
•    Establish governance processes, review mechanisms, and quality checkpoints across design workstreams.
•    Monitor project risks, dependencies, and delivery metrics while driving corrective actions where required.
•    Ensure efficient coordination between design, development, QA, and project management teams.
Design Leadership & Quality Assurance
•    Provide strategic design direction across web and digital experience projects.
•    Ensure consistency in the application of design systems, brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and UX/UI best practices.
•    Review and approve design outputs, ensuring visual excellence and adherence to client requirements.
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives within UI processes, tools, workflows, and design operations.
•    Support the evolution and governance of design systems, component libraries, and reusable frameworks.
Business & Capability Development
•    Contribute to solutioning, effort estimation, proposals, and capability presentations during new business opportunities.
•    Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and scalable design practices.
•    Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives related to design operations, innovation, and team growth.
•    Champion design thinking and user-centered design practices across engagements.

Required Skills & Experience
•    10-14 years of experience in UI, Visual Design, Digital Experience Design, or related disciplines.
•    Proven experience managing teams of 15-25 designers in a delivery-oriented environment.
•    Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
•    Expert knowledge of Figma, including design systems, shared libraries, variables, components, and governance models.
•    Strong understanding of responsive web design, accessibility standards, and modern UI best practices.
•    Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
•    Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and front-end implementation considerations.
•    Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, priorities, and geographically distributed teams.
•    Strong people management, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
•    Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
•    Experience in effort estimation, project planning, resource management, and delivery governance.
