Role Overview

Indegene is seeking a Director – UX to lead the user experience function across its digital product ecosystem. Reporting to the VP of Products, this role will define and execute the UX vision and strategy, elevate design excellence, and embed user-centric practices across product teams.

The Senior Director will act as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Marketing, driving design-led growth and ensuring that customer empathy and experience innovation remain at the core of all product initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define the UX vision, strategy, and operating model aligned with business and product objectives.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing UX organization focused on excellence, collaboration, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish UX/CX OKRs to position the function as a strategic value driver for business growth.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment between UX, Product Management, and Engineering for consistent and scalable experience delivery.

Experience Design & Research

  • Champion user research and insight-led design to guide product direction and innovation.
  • Ensure all product decisions are grounded in deep understanding of user needs, behaviours, and journeys.
  • Promote the adoption of design systems and scalable frameworks across product lines.
  • Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable design strategies.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to align design execution with roadmap priorities.
  • Drive consistent CX across platforms and form factors for both internal and external product initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure the seamless integration of user experience in all phases—from concept to launch.

Thought Leadership

  • Provide strategic and creative leadership to deliver best-in-class digital experiences.
  • Evangelize design thinking and customer advocacy across the organization.
  • Represent UX in leadership forums, influencing business and product decisions through evidence-based design insights.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Centred Design, Design Methods, HCI, or related field.
  • Continuous learning mindset with certifications or applied design leadership experience preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in UX design and 5+ years in people leadership within agile product environments.
  • Proven track record of leading UX strategy and delivery for large-scale or complex digital products.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing UX teams.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving measurable impact through design.
  • Experience in the healthcare or life sciences domain will be a strong plus.
  • Front-end development knowledge preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to articulate design value and outcomes.
  • Proficiency in design and collaboration tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro/Mural, usability and analytics platforms).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive team success.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under pressure.
