Must Have

You will be responsible for:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and performant backend services using Python and Flask.
• Architect APIs and microservices that power our web and mobile platforms.
• Optimize application performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with Front-end, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and drive best practices across the engineering team.
• Ensure application security and data protection by design.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and coverage.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and the evolution of our platform’s backend strategy to cater to future needs

About you:
We are actively looking for a highly skilled and experienced backend engineer to join our dynamic team of innovators, consistently pushing the envelope for user experience excellence. The ideal candidate should possess a unique combination of technical expertise, insatiable inquisitiveness, and an analytical mindset. The role entails working both autonomously and collaboratively in crafting and advancing mission-critical websites, applications, and layers of infrastructure. Proficiency in Python Flask, RESTful API, gRPC APIs, MongoDB or Redis, Apache Cassandra, PostgreSQL or MySQL is beneficial for a swift impact in this position. The backend engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping both our business success and that of our clients.

Must have:
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in Python and Flask.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and best practices.
• Hands on experience with building gRPC APIs.
• 3+ years of experience with NoSQL Databases like MongoDB or Redis, Apache Cassandra
• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes is a plus).
• Familiarity with with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and task queues (Celery, AWS SQS preferred).
• Strong grasp of software design principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Proficient in writing unit, functional, and integration tests (e.g. pyunit or unittest).
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices

Good to have

• Experience with Flask extensions (Flask-SQLAlchemy, Flask-OIDC, etc.).
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming and multithreading/ multiprocessing in Python (e.g. joblib , asyncio, FastAPI).
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred or GCP/ Azure).
• Exposure to GraphQL.
• Understanding of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
