Role: Software Engineer - AEP

Job description: You will be responsible for:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Consultant (A3) to join our Adobe Experience Cloud practice. You will architect, implement, and optimise Customer Data Platform solutions built on Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), drive real-time audience activation through Real-Time CDP, and orchestrate personalised customer journeys at scale with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO). You will work hand-in-hand with client stakeholders, data engineers, and marketing technologists to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)

Design and implement XDM schemas, datasets, and data governance policies (DULE labels, RBAC) aligned to client data strategies.

Lead batch and streaming data ingestion via AEP source connectors, HTTP API, and Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK / alloy.js.

Build and maintain Real-Time Customer Profiles; manage identity stitching across CRMID, ECID, and custom namespaces.

Develop reusable segment definitions using Segment Builder and PQL; export segments to activation destinations.

Execute exploratory and operational queries on AEP Query Service (PSQL / SQL) for data validation and reporting datasets.

Configure and monitor dataflows; troubleshoot ingestion failures and profile merge policies.

Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP)

Architect end-to-end RT-CDP solutions covering data collection, identity resolution, segmentation, and multi-channel activation.

Configure activation destinations — cloud storage (S3, Azure Blob), advertising platforms (Google DV360, Facebook), email ESPs, and custom HTTP destinations.

Implement consent management frameworks (IAB TCF 2.x) and Data Usage Policy enforcement.

Define and govern B2C and B2B audience segmentation strategies in collaboration with marketing and analytics teams.

Monitor audience match rates, profile counts, and activation metrics; optimise segment refresh cadences.

Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)

Design and build multi-step customer journeys (event-triggered, audience-based, and API-triggered) across email, push, SMS, in-app, and web channels.

Configure AJO channel surfaces, message presets, suppression lists, and PTR records.

Implement Offer Decisioning: create offers, fallback offers, offer collections, and ranking strategies (AI Ranking / priority scores).

Set up frequency capping, business rules, and consent policies to ensure compliant customer communication.

Analyse journey reports (live and global), identify drop-off points, and implement A/B experiments within journeys.

Integrate AJO with AEP Real-Time Profiles and external systems via custom actions and REST API calls.

Client Engagement & Delivery

Serve as the subject-matter expert in client workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design reviews.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications, solution blueprints, and implementation roadmaps.

Mentor junior consultants (A1–A2) and contribute to internal practice development (playbooks, accelerators, CoE assets).

Manage delivery risks, escalate blockers, and ensure on-time delivery within agreed scope.

Prepare and present status reports, solution architecture documents, and post-go-live recommendations.
