Role: Senior Architect, Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Location: New Hope, PA (open to On-site if local or Remote/Hybrid if not)
Descriptipn:
As we evolve our omnichannel solutions for BioPharm Communications Companies, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Architect to help lead the backend design, development, and optimization of our marketing automation capabilities for Pharma & Biotech brands. This will be a technical role responsible for architecting complex, data-driven customer journeys and campaign automation using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Tandem’s proprietary applications portal while working closely with stakeholders across CRM Marketing Operations, Data, and Product teams. The SFMC Architect position will also provide oversight and play a critical role in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud vendor partnership to ensure that our platform is capitalizing on any new trends or capabilities, and process efficiencies with the end goal of improving overall campaign delivery.
Must Have
In partnership with CRM Marketing Operations, lead the design and architecture of SFMC solutions for Client marketing campaigns that require strategic, omnichannel frameworks, data modeling, automation and integrations
Provide guidance on SFMC best practices, platform scalability, new technical expertise, process efficiencies, and the supporting documentation as needed
Translate campaign-level business requirements into technical specifications and custom builds for end-to-end automated deployment
Design data flows and API integrations between SFMC and in-house Programmatic desks, and external partners and platforms (i.e., other CRM systems, CDPs, SFAs, media placements, and publishing partners etc.)
Core Technical Skills:
SFMC Platform Experience
Proficiency in Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Contact Builder, Advertising Studio, and Content Builder
Deep understanding of data extensions, contact model, and subscriber key strategy
Experience with Send Logging, Data Views, and Data relationships
Experience with multi-business unit and enterprise-level implementations
AMPscript & Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS)
Advanced use of AMPscript to personalize content dynamically
Comfortable with SSJS for backend logic within emails, cloud pages, and automations
CloudPages & Microsites
Build and manage custom cloud-based landing pages, forms, and surveys using HTML, CSS, AMPscript, SSJS etc. within SFMC and fully integrated with Client systems and marketing campaigns
Automation Studio
Design and optimize multi-step automations
Use SQL Queries, data filters, and file imports/exports effectively
Create programmatic data workflows for campaign triggers and data updates
Preferred Data & Integration Skills:
SQL for Query Activities
Proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud SQL dialect
Write complex joins, filters, and aggregations for segmentation, reporting, and triggers APIs
Experience with REST and SOAP APIs
Triggered sends
Data Extension manipulation
Subscriber management
Custom preference centers
Integration of SFMC with SFAs (i.e., Veeva, Salesforce CRM, OCE etc.), external CDPs, or other 3rd party systems
Data Management
Strong understanding of data modeling, segmentation, and multi-source data integration
Comfortable managing large datasets ensuring data hygiene and compliance
Other Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with a deep understanding of core modules and capabilities
Familiarity with customer journey orchestration, next-best-action frameworks, and AI-driven personalization
Adept at a consultative approach, and customizing marketing automation solutions to meet individual Client needs
Experience and understanding of the regulated healthcare industry preferred
Compliance knowledge and familiarity with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, HIPPA
Knowledge of performance and deliverability optimization and best practices for email rendering, inbox placement, domain warm-up and onboarding, and IP management
High-level understanding of marketing analytics, tagging strategies, and campaign performance reporting that could impact journey decisioning frameworks and builds
Experience implementing and overseeing pre and post deployment QA checks for Client campaign marketing automation including escalation and troubleshooting
Strong cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, and external vendor partners

Certifications:
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer (strongly preferred)
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
Bonus: Salesforce Admin, Marketing Cloud Consultant, or Architect certifications
